The Human Lungs & Daniel Zeller
I furthered my research of the lungs by doing the most simple of things to do when researching and typed Human Lung into Google images. I found the below image so amazing to look at as it shows a microscopic look at the Hydatic Disease which is actually common in sheep, not really humans. I loved however the patterns and forms that it makes whilst spreading.

Human Lungs & Sol Lewitt
I found multiple pictures which interested me when after visiting the Anatomy Museum about the lungs. I found one diagram which shows the lung flow patterns shown above. I find this computer simulated model really intreaging and reminded me of the video we watched in the first term about Sol Lewitt's drawings.
The Thatcher Effect
This effect is known as the Thatcher Effect and is basically where you can change the eyes and the mouth around so that when you see it upside down, you can't tell. The left side of the image is normal on the bottom and edited on the top upside down. I find this amazing because it is the way in which the brain registers an image, in this case a face and sees it as normal. This raises a question i've constantly been asking myself, what is it that defines the physical aesthetics of a person and how far do you have to go so you can't recognise it at all?

Hitler & Tourism
I find this photograph so amazing for multiple reasons to do with the history behind it however one of the most interesting features is that Hitler is posing for a photograph like a tourist. This element of not just western culture but most cultures is amazing, and even though Hitler, an undeniable evil person, he still finds himself posing in front of the Eiffel tower. I think this in some way, sort of humanises Hitler in a weird way.
What is about our society that makes us pose for photographs in front of famous sites?
Why do we do this? - note the way everyone is holding themselves in the photograph!
Food for thought. :)

It will be at 10am in the Richmond building (near the architects building - towards the bridge over the motorway!) on Tuesday the 17th of Feb. If anyone can't make it or would like to get involved i'm sure there will be a few drop outs and someone else can take their place.
